In the Land of the Mounties…

CANSEC 2016

Yesterday and today, we’ve been at CANSEC—Canada’s global defense and security trade show—which has been taking place in Ottawa. This year, we’ve been sharing booth space with our long term channel partner J-Squared Technologies. That’s been really helpful, as J-Squared are well known in this market, so it’s enabled us to help visitors make the link between the GE Intelligent Platforms embedded computing business that we once were, and the Abaco Systems business that we are today.

That said, though: it’s been rewarding to have seen some good name recognition from our visitors: word seems to be getting out! Equally motivating has been to see General Dynamics Mission Systems Canada prominently featuring our ½ ATR 3U VPX Sonobuoy Processor in their booth at CANSEC as their hardware platform of choice.

Pete Thompson, Michael Wurts, and Dan Veenstra are present here with me. Capturing a lot of attention here is our FORCE2, with significant interest in what we at Abaco are doing with certifiable systems. Dan has also been talking to customers about future systems concepts and new interconnect strategies, moving us into rugged 10 Gigabit Ethernet and other high data rate connections.

Just like last year: so far, a very worthwhile show. We’ll look forward to being back again in 2017.
